Why Project BRIDGE?

School should be an inclusive space where all students, regardless of background, collaborate to foster productive learning. Faculty and students should work together not only to acquire knowledge but also to critically assess and apply it. Recognizing that knowledge is fluid and subject to interpretation, teachers can create safe environments for students to question and challenge existing beliefs. The purpose of this website is to incorporate diverse perspectives through different learning materials along with a plethora of teacher development resources, funding opportunities, sample lesson plans, etc. While there are various websites with a similar initiative, Project BRIDGE focuses on the specific needs of rural Maine schools, ensuring that these resources are adaptable to the nuances of Maine classrooms.
